Bollards:

Short post used to divert traffic from an area or road.

All our bollards are custom made to your specifications and can be painted safety yellow, red, orange…They are widely used for airports, parking garages, community areas…

Flitch plates:

Steel plate sandwiched between 2 wooden beams, with the three layers being held together using bolts, resulting in a significantly stronger beam.

We make them in all sizes, thickness is usually between ¼” to ¾” depending on the project and holes are drilled every 16”OC.

Columns:

Vertical structural member used in construction to provide essential support. They may carry loads in compression or transfer loads from beams or ceilings to floors or foundations.

They come in all shapes and sizes (round, square, rectangular). Base plates and column length are tailor-made for each project.

Beams:

Called I-beam, W-beam, H-beam, they are designed to bend under high stress instead of buckling. The horizontal elements of the I are flanges, and the vertical element is the “web”.

The web resists shear forces, while the flanges resist most of the bending moment experienced by the beam.

There would be no structural steel without beams! This is our highest volume product in our fabrication shop. Just provide us with the plans or measurements and we will fabricate to your exact specs.

Lintels:

A lintel is a structural horizontal support used to span an opening between two vertical supports (wall, columns…). It is frequently used over windows and doors. They usually come in the shape of angles or plates and can be treated against rust (primed, galvanized…). We do them all!

Structural Welds:

Structural welders create the metal structure of buildings and bridges as well as cut and repair beams, columns, and girders.

Structural welding has its own set of codes, blueprints, and types of weld joints.

C&F Steel adheres to the guidelines of the American Institution of Steel Construction for steel fabrication and erection and our welders are AWS certified.
